AHV's 'Getting into Work, Training, and Art Scholarship'

Are you wanting to get into work or training, but short of funds for the work clothes, tools, equipment or training?Are you creating crafts or artworks for sale but short of materials? AHV is offering renters Getting into Work, Training and Art Scholarships of up to $500 to assist with some of the costs – for example, getting safety boots or tools or paying for certificates and courses.

Are you interested in becoming a Financial Counsellor?

AHV is proud to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people interested in becoming qualified Financial Counsellors.

The Diploma of Financial Counselling through Eva Burrows College is tuition-free for eligible Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants. 

As part of the course, students complete a workplace placement. AHV can now offer paid placement opportunities within our Housing Pathways Team. Placement experience includes shadowing a qualified Financial Counsellor and helping to support AHV renters and community members who engage with financial wellbeing services or are investigating Home Ownership pathways.

AHV’s Aboriginal Homes Thrive program supports AHV renters and their families to build confidence, strengthen wellbeing and work towards the future they want — whether that’s around housing, money, health, employment, family or everyday life.

Our wellbeing team work with renters in a culturally safe and practical way, connecting people with support, community programs, goal-setting and everyday tools to help them thrive at home and in life.
